The countdown clock on our Home page is telling me that there are only 15 days 3 hours and 45 minutes until we open the doors for our first centenary event. So much has been done over the past year in preparation for this special weekend but I am fighting the panic as I think of all that still needs to be done. The final draft of the booklet is just about ready to send to the printers. Alison and Catherine have done a wonderful job editing and contributing to this book. Ailsa and her daughter, Lynette, have been busy creating a new banner for hanging inside the church and I have been sifting through hundreds of photos submitted for our visual display of the past 50 years.
Next Saturday morning we are holding a working bee down at the church to spruce the place up in time for the following week's celebrations. Join us if you can. Give as much or as little time as you can spare ... many hands make light work. By the way, I'm not really panicking - It's all under control! We'll get there and it will be fun!

Only four weeks until our centenary celebrations. If you haven't already registered, do so now! We need to let the caterers know the numbers for the Saturday night celebratory dinner. The committee is busy putting the finishing touches to arrangements. We have had some wonderful contributions to the commemorative booklet and the final draft will be on its way to the printers shortly. The commemorative pens have arrived and look great - everyone who has registered will have one of these included with their registration pack.
We have had four businesses come on board as sponsors - Robert Pascoe Carriers, Auckland Drape Company, Gano Excel - Te Atatu and Sale Street Studios. Their generosity means that we are now able to cater the Sunday luncheon. Please support these businesses when and where you can. Links to their websites can be found on our home page. Only 15 weeks to go and we need business sponsorship. Please consider asking your employers or friends in business if they would like to sponsor all or some of our costs. These include:
Commemorative Booklets at approx. $3 each A Memorial Plaque at approx. $50 Centennial Cake with picture of church on top $70 Centenary Dinner Invitations & programmes - cost not yet known Sponsors would be acknowledged in the booklet and on our website (with links to their own website if requested) |
