Our Minister

Reverend Gary Mauga

Gary was ordained and inducted as Minister of St. Andrew's Henderson on 30 January 2013.
Gary is a graduate of Knox Centre for Minstry & Leadership. He is supported by his lovely wife Suliana and their beautiful daughter, Tara.

Our Church

Presbyterians have worshipped in Henderson since the early part of last century. The church was opened in 1911 in Station Road (now Railside Avenue). It was originally under Home Mission charge. The Church Hall was moved to our present location in 1964 and renovated as a Church with a hall built onto the building in an “L” shaped complex. The kitchen and meeting room (lounge) was added onto the Church in the 1980’s.

Today, the parish has a committed membership and is experiencing a steady growth across the full age range from children and young families to older people. Members of all ages and cultural backgrounds mix well. There is a positive, friendly and welcoming atmosphere within the Church family. “Family” is the operative word. Post–service morning tea is a drawn-out chatty occasion when we catch up with others’ highs and lows with genuine care, enjoyment and concern. Worship is Minister-led with Parishioners leading bible readings and intercessory prayers. Meet our Parish Council here >>

Our Young People

Faithbuilders
Our Sunday school children up to age 13 are known as the Faithbuilders. Their programme runs each Sunday of the school term. Read more here >>

StAND Youth
StAND Youth is the Youth Ministry here at St. Andrew's Henderson.
It is for young people in year 9 and onwards and is led by our Minister, Gary and the Youth Leaders. StAND Youth meet every second Sunday during school terms. Email Rev. Gary for more information! Or read more here.

Our Community Outreach

Beginning in early 2007, our group meets on Wednesday mornings at 10a.m. during term time. It is open to all pre-schoolers and their care-givers from throughout the community.
